BVT (BAE VOSPER THORNEYCROFT)

Our Client BVT (BAE VOSPER THORNEYCROFT) asked JBA to support their Procurement and Supply Chain functions to deliver cost reduction targets to meet the business objectives of BVT and make a significant contribution to the terms of agreement for the long term commitment to the MOD. Implementing TPS (Total Package Services) methodology delivered cost savings of 10% and many intangible benefits along with a legacy of dedicated contract management capable of delivering future year-on-year cost reductions to meet their contractual financial milestones into the future.

Before

BVT procured indirect materials and services from a plethora of suppliers through numerous multi-faceted procurement routes and functions using inconsistent processes. Service delivery did not meet the requirements of the business and the many routes of procurement from a pool of 2300 suppliers resulted in grossly inefficient processes and reporting.

It was clear that without a standard approach to procurement through a dedicated contract management function that fully understood the requirements of the business working in partnership with a refined supply base having the capability to meet service levels and bring innovation with a cost-down culture that BVT goals and objectives would not be achieved.

"WE ACHIEVED COST SAVINGS OF 10% ON PROCUREMENT OF INDIRECT MATERIALS AND SERVICES AND HAVE REALISED MANY INTANGIBLE BENEFITS THAT MEET THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE BUSINESS AT POINT OF USE OPERATIONS THROUGH DEDICATED CONTRACT MANAGEMENT AND A COST-DOWN CULTURE"
